Explore this Sheera Recipe and I bet it will melt in your mouth. Sheera, also known as Sooji ka halva, is officially the most popular breakfast recipe in our household. I make it about once a week, sometimes even twice. It is loaded with ghee. Add fruits and nuts to make it more delicious.
The most important tip to ensure the perfect Sheera taste is to saute the semolina on a low flame until light brown. A typical aroma can be sensed once the semolina is ready. With regard to saffron threads, soak them in warm milk or warm water for few minutes before you add the same. This helps in giving a better aroma and taste of saffron to the recipe.
The most popular fruit options are bananas, pineapples, apples, and mangoes. Have it for breakfast, dessert or as an afternoon snack. You can even pack it is as a snack tiffin for little ones. I make a much richer version of the recipe as an offering during Satyanarayan pooja.
Do explore my Mango Sheera variant. It is as delicious as eating real mangoes and is a all time kids favorite.
