It uses the authentic Goan curry masala, the recipe for which I had shared in an earlier post. If you make the curry paste ahead of time, this crab curry recipe becomes super easy and is ready in no time.
Some people are allergic to crabs and therefore if you have never had crabs before, try a little bit for the first time. This will help you make sure that you are not allergic to crabs before indulging in more. Remember to adjust the spices level in the curry masala paste to your liking. You can have this crab curry with roti, rice or bread of your choice.

Goan Crab Curry
- 6-8 crabs de-shelled and washed
- 1 onion small chopped
- 1/4 cup Goan curry masala
- 1 cup water
- 1/4 tsp turmeric
- salt to taste
- 2 tsp oil
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Add chopped onions and saute till they are translucent.
- Add turmeric powder and 1 cup water and salt.
- Cover and cook for 10 minutes.
- Add Goan curry paste and mix well.
- Add more water as needed.
- Cover and simmer for 5 to 10 minutes.
