Tips on making the best guacamole
Garlic is not very common in guacamole but using it in this recipe helps us include some raw garlic in our diets. Garlic has some excellent anti-microbial and anti-oxidant properties that will give a boost to your immune system.
Guacamole tastes best when served immediately. Avocados turn brown when they come in contact with air. However, if you want to save it for later there is a trick. There is a myth about putting the pit in the guacamole to prevent it from browning. However, it is only a myth. Nevertheless, we do it. You need to prevent the guacamole from coming in contact with air so use a cling wrap and press it on the guacamole so that there is no air between the plastic and the guacamole. You can then store it in the refrigerator for a couple of days.
Our guacamole tastes serves well as a dip for chips, or as a spread on bread. We love sourdough with guacamole for our weekend breakfasts. Try our easy sourdough bread recipe here. Also, don’t forget to check out our very popular make-ahead breakfast watermelon cake.
